This is a natural phenomenon. Iron digesting bacteria deposit waste products that produce a rainbow of colors. The flowing patterns are the result of gentle flow toward the shoreline as water rich in organic matter seeped out of the sand at a higher level. All of these images were taken with a cell phone camera during a calm cloudy morning.
